The TAG Heuer Formula 1 Chronograph CA1213, better known by collectors as the "Bumblebee", has quietly become one of the most desirable vintage TAG Heuer models on the market. That unmistakable bright yellow dial, the black bezel, the bold chronograph layout... they simply don't make watches like this anymore.

And finding one like this?

That's the difficult part.

At the time of listing, comparable CA1213 examples are being offered on the secondary market from around €1,400 for watch-only pieces to well over €2,100 for exceptional or New Old Stock examples.

Complete examples with their original box, warranty card and accessories are becoming increasingly difficult to source.

Condition

Honestly... it's a beautiful watch.

The case presents exceptionally well, the original brushed finish looks fantastic, the bezel has aged exactly as you'd hope, and the yellow dial absolutely steals the show. The colours are still vibrant nearly 30 years later.

The bracelet is also in superb condition.

The only point worth mentioning is that it is currently slightly short.

Extra original bracelet links have already been ordered and are currently on their way from overseas. They will be supplied completely free of charge to the winning bidder as soon as they arrive (estimated 7–14 days).

The clasp shows a few light surface marks from normal wear.

If the winning bidder would like the clasp refinished, I'm happy to have it professionally re-brushed free of charge. My watchmaker is currently on holiday and returns in mid-August. Simply send the watch back whenever convenient, and I'll have it completed and returned the same day.
