Rolex Datejust 16014 36mm Silver Linen Dial 18ct White Gold Bezel c.1982

A superb vintage Rolex Datejust with one of the most attractive dial configurations from the period.

Offered for sale is this Rolex Oyster Perpetual Datejust Ref. 16014, dating to approximately 1982, presented in stainless steel with the classic 18ct white gold fluted bezel.

The standout feature of this watch is undoubtedly the silver linen dial.

Unlike a standard silver Datejust dial, the linen finish has a subtle textured surface that changes beautifully depending on the light. In natural light it can appear bright silver, while at other angles it takes on warmer grey and champagne tones.

It gives the watch far more depth and character than a conventional sunburst or plain silver dial.

Powered by the renowned Rolex Calibre 3035 automatic movement, this generation also benefits from the very practical quickset date function, allowing the date to be adjusted independently.

Exceptional Vintage Condition

This particular example is presented in exceptional overall condition for its age.

The case is especially impressive. It remains very sharp and well defined, with strong lugs and excellent proportions. It appears to have received very little polishing during its life, particularly when compared with many vintage Datejust examples from this period.

The 18ct white gold fluted bezel also presents beautifully and retains excellent definition.

The genuine Rolex Jubilee bracelet is in excellent vintage condition, showing remarkably little stretch for its age and giving the watch a particularly strong overall presentation.

Only minimal signs of wear are visible, consistent with careful use over the years.

The watch underwent a full mechanical service on 30 August 2026 and has subsequently been tested for correct operation.

At the time of testing, the timegrapher showed approximately:
